I came home from bible study and running a couple of errands just in time to see our 'new' couch and love seat, end tables, coffee table, and wall hanging being delivered. It's like we've moved into a whole new house without having to move at all! The poor cats are still trying to figure out what the heck has happened, but with a bit of time, they will get used to it.
The wall hanging needs to be hung yet, but the living room is looking mighty fine. My Gazelle exerciser is folded up and out on the patio, which doesn't help me a bit - the whole purpose of it's ease of use was to have it open and at the ready - but the living room looks so nice without it, we are wont to put it back in. I'm sure that will change in a day or so...there is just no other place for it to be.
And poor Molly is just beside herself because her very tall cat tree has been removed from the premises, as well. It does need to be replaced, as it has seen several cats' activity through the years. We will get her a shorter one that she will still be able to sit atop and feel she has some height and is above the world.
We were both so exhausted after all the activity today, we took long naps. But I think I want to continue our quest tomorrow for another end table for the library, and the table and chairs we are looking for for in front of the bookcase, as well as the settee/loveseat for in front of the window seat. Right now we have the old gray one in a slip cover and have given the gray couch to my Pop, so it would be nice for him to have the matching love seat, as well. I really want the 'right' loveseat for the library anyway - we are just making do, as it is.
The owner of Bubala's in Atwater, where we got our latest purchases was along for the delivery today, so I invited her in to see what we've done with all the things we've gotten. She was quite pleased, and seemed quite taken with my quilts, which quite pleased me! So our adventure continues, but not without a good night's sleep!
When I laid down for my nap, I had my iPod plugged into my ears listening to the soundtrack to Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" and woke up to "The Best of Yaz" - so that was quite fun! If you haven't heard either, I highly recommend both pieces of work. Yaz is from the '80s and is techno and about as unusual as it can get. And Danny Elfman outdid himself on the soundtrack for "Alice." Just saying. :)
